Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst/Product Owner to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position requires expertise in both business analysis and product ownership, bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders, development teams, and business leaders to define, prioritize, and execute product strategies while ensuring seamless communication and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
As a Business Analyst:
- Requirement Gathering: Elicit, document, and analyze business, functional, and non-functional requirements through stakeholder meetings, workshops, surveys, and interviews.
- Process Documentation: Develop and maintain process flows, business models, and system documentation to support business operations and technology solutions.
- Data Analysis: Conduct basic data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making and process improvements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and testers, to ensure business requirements are well understood and effectively implemented.
- Gap Analysis: Identify discrepancies between current business processes and desired outcomes, recommending actionable solutions.
- User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Develop clear and concise user stories with defined acceptance criteria for Agile projects.
- Testing Support: Assist in creating test plans and test cases, participating in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions align with business requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and expectation management.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain project-related documents such as requirement specifications, meeting notes, status reports, and user manuals.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend process optimizations to enhance operational efficiency and business effectiveness.
- Strategic Business Alignment: Ensure business objectives align with technical solutions by actively participating in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Advanced Data Analytics: Utilize advanced data analysis tools to generate insights that support key business decisions and initiatives.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Act as a mentor to junior business analysts, sharing best practices, and guiding them in refining their analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate business risks and work with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Vendor & Third-Party Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure seamless integration of third-party solutions into business processes.
As a Product Owner:
- Product Backlog Management: Own, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring user stories are clearly defined and aligned with the product vision.
- Sprint Planning: Collaborate with the Scrum Master and development team to plan sprints, define sprint goals, and ensure the delivery of high-value features.
- Requirements Translation: Work closely with stakeholders, including customers and business leaders, to translate business needs into actionable product features.
- User Story Creation: Write detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria, providing the development team with comprehensive guidance for feature implementation.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding product updates, timelines, and priorities.
- Product Vision & Strategy: Partner with the Product Manager to align on the overall product vision and ensure the team delivers value-driven solutions.
- Feedback Integration: Continuously gather and analyze feedback from stakeholders, users, and the development team to refine the product roadmap and prioritize impactful improvements.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor development progress, identifying blockers or risks and addressing them proactively to maintain alignment with business goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis and/or product ownership, preferably in an Agile environment.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with requirement elicitation, process mapping, and user story development.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, business intelligence platforms, and documentation tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify gaps, propose solutions, and drive implementation.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in user acceptance testing (UAT) and working closely with development and QA teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
