The Manila Times is looking for a reporter that is responsible for researching, and writing news stories, interviews, and attending press conferences.

• Excellent command of written and spoken English

• Degree holder in journalism, communications, or related discipline

• Ability to establish and maintain a network of contacts in government and the private sector as source of information and analysis

• Ability to identify the angle of news from a raft of available information or seek out information to build a solid news story

• Familiarity with local issues and an understanding of relevant world affairs

• A sense of speed and accuracy in writing and filing real-time stories to the news desk to meet tight deadlines

• Knows Microsoft Office, social media and search engines

• A good team player, but is able to work independently within the parameters of a given assignment

• Good attitude, willingness to adjust to new systems and ability to respect authority within the organization
