Position Responsibilities

Leadership & Oversight

• Attend Order Review Meetings (ORM) for required jobs.

• Distribute quotes to Technical Estimators and oversee workload allocation.

• Review and verify Technical Estimators’ quotes for accuracy of values and proposed solutions.

• Manage training and development of Technical Estimators, highlighting deficiencies to Business Development Managers.

• Create training materials and documents for estimating staff.

• Introduce activities and initiatives to streamline quoting processes and procedures.

• Ensure accurate data entry into Zoho CRM.

Estimating Duties (shared with Technical Estimators)

• Quote solutions as per customer requirements and advice from Business Development Managers.

• Review customer specifications and drawings, complete client datasheets, and build quote files.

• Size systems and battery banks.

• Populate quote templates and pricing spreadsheets.

• Deliver proposals by required deadlines.

• Process Sales Orders through ABEL software.

• Provide CAD drawings and documentation as required.

• Ensure job files are complete before transfer to the production team.

• Respond to enquiries and requests within the same workday.

• Adhere to the company’s pricing policy and selling strategies.

• Maintain and expand knowledge of Magellan’s products and services.

• Work additional hours as required to meet deadlines.

Other Responsibilities and/or Accountabilities

• Adhere to the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) policies & procedures.

• Support the Leadership Team by presenting information relating to the performance of the operations under your control to ensure effective monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation (MMAE) of the organisations IMS.

• Actively participate in development and maintenance of the company’s IMS.

• Take a communicative and proactive role to implement, review, measure IMS performance within your area of responsibility.

• Suggesting improvements and being active in the general improvement of all systems and methods of work to ensure the company supports activities and services that are carried out in a reliable and cost-effective manner.

• Encourage the reporting of all known hazards and incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner as per company procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualification Requirements: • Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or similar field.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and pricing spreadsheets.

• Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/Draftsight; SolidWorks an advantage).

• Demonstrated experience in technical estimating, quoting, or engineering support.

• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

• Ability to develop and implement process improvements.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and high analytical capability.

• Experience with ERP/CRM systems (ABEL, Zoho) preferred.
