Job Overview: The Production/Garment/Clothing Merchandiser is responsible for selecting and curating clothing products to meet consumer demand, ensuring that the inventory is appealing, on-trend, and profitable. They play a crucial role in the retail industry by identifying and procuring clothing items that align with the brand's image and customer preferences.


Key Responsibilities:

Product Selection: Identify fashion trends and consumer preferences by analyzing market research, customer feedback, and sales data. Collaborate with designers, suppliers, and buyers to select clothing products that align with the brand's image and target market.


Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure stock availability without overstocking. Forecast demand and plan stock levels to meet customer needs efficiently.

Identify slow-moving items and implement strategies to reduce excess inventory.


Supplier and Vendor Relations: Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers and manufacturers to secure favorable terms and conditions. Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and manage the supply chain effectively.


Pricing and Promotion: Set competitive and profitable pricing for clothing items based on market analysis and profit margins. Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional campaigns and sales events.


Visual Merchandising: Work with visual merchandisers and store managers to create appealing product displays. Ensure that clothing items are presented attractively and consistently in physical stores and online.


Quality Control: Inspect clothing items to ensure they meet quality standards and align with the brand's reputation. Address quality issues with suppliers and coordinate returns or replacements as necessary.


Sales Analysis: Analyze sales data to identify trends, best-selling items, and underperforming products. Make data-driven decisions to optimize product assortment and pricing strategies.


Market Research: Stay updated on fashion trends, industry developments, and competitor activities. Attend trade shows, fashion events, and industry conferences to source new products and gather insights.


Qualifications:

  • With a bachelor's degree in fashion or any 4 year business course.
  • With work experience in clothing merchandising, retail buying, or fashion retail is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
  • Negotiation and communication skills to work effectively with suppliers and vendors.
  • Analytical skills to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.
  • Creative and visual merchandising skills to create attractive product displays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Full time, office based. Applicant must have no commute issue going to New Manila, Quezon City.
