- Performs routine laboratory examinations following Standard procedures
- Prepares laboratory test reportsb. Prepares blood sample for send out examinationc. Accomplishes “ send-out forms” and forwards the request to the receptionistd. Monitors reliability and accuracy of each test run
- Performs a variety of determinations on different bodily fluids such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, complete blood tests
- Records laboratory test results in the appropriate laboratory logbook.
- Prepares laboratory test reports
- Consults the pathologist for some confirmatory examination
- Prepares specimens to be stored or transported to the reference laboratory
- Logs in the pending logbook patient with findings
- Submits monthly report to the Department of Health on the laboratory test done
- Operates, calibrates and conducts performance check on clinical laboratory equipment
- Reports to Medical Director medical equipment failure
- Implements medical testing equipment maintenance activities
- Maintains cleanliness of the unit
- Maintain a log of supplies used in the laboratory and keeps area stocked with supplies
- Makes periodic inventory of reagents, noting the expiry date
- Prepares requisition for reagent and supplies needed in the laboratory
- Must be a Registered Medical Technologist.
