About the Role

The General Ledger Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records to support the monthly closing process. This includes the preparation of journal entries, monthly schedules, quarterly reports, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities. The role also involves preparing monthly reports for process owners and controller packages, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Perform general ledger (GL) functions including reconciliations, variance analysis, and adjustments.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly schedules, financial reports, and supporting documentation for assigned entities.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
  • Compile and submit the monthly controller package and other relevant reporting schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting timelines.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the shared service environment to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency.


Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in General Ledger or related accounting functions.
  • Experience in a Global Finance Shared Services Center is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team setting.
