Job Title: Financial Controller – Tech & Services, AU/PH

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Manager – Tech & Services, AU/PH to oversee and manage the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions for Australia and Philippines. The ideal candidate will have solid cross-border finance experience, ideally within the IT services industry, and a strong understanding of local tax compliance and regulatory requirements in both countries.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations for both AU and PH entities
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Consolidate financial statements across regions and provide variance and trend analysis
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Provide financial insights and support to senior leadership for strategic decision-making

Regulatory & Tax Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Australian and Philippine statutory and tax requirements (e.g., BAS, GST, PAYG for AU; BIR filings, VAT, expanded withholding tax for PH)
• Prepare and file BIR-related documentation, including but not limited to 1601-EQ, 2550M/Q, 1702, and 2316
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors for annual audits, tax assessments, and statutory reporting

Process Improvement & Internal Controls

• Establish, improve, and enforce internal financial controls and accounting policies across regions
• Ensure proper documentation, reconciliation, and tracking of financial transactions
• Recommend and implement automation or system improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency

Payroll & Compliance Support

• Review payroll inputs for accuracy and ensure timely disbursement in compliance with applicable labor laws in PH and AU
• Liaise with HR for payroll taxes, benefits, and government remittances
• Ensure correct application of local financial policies for employee reimbursements, per diems, and benefits

Collaboration & Communication

• Act as the main point of contact for all financial matters across both regions
• Liaise with external partners (banks, tax agents, auditors) and internal stakeholders (HR, operations, CEO)
• Provide financial guidance and mentorship to junior team members, if any

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or controller-level role
• Proven experience managing financial operations for both Australia and the Philippines
• Deep knowledge of BIR compliance, filings, and local tax regulations
• Familiarity with Australian accounting standards and tax obligations
• Strong understanding of financial systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, SAP)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with international teams

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in an IT services or tech-enabled company
• Experience using cloud-based accounting platforms and automation tools
• Background in managing remote or distributed finance teams
